MORE THAN a third of the workforce has been laid-off at Nottinghamshire trailer manufacturer Southlieldsas administrators cut the company's costs in a bid to attract potential buyers.
About 30 of the 80-strong workforce have been made redundant since the Langar-based company went into administration with debts of around £750,000.
Joint administrator Gerald Smith says: "They moved from Loughborough to Langarlast year, invested in the new site and could not sell the old one.Nevertheless, he adds, the order book is "quite healthyand the old site has sold. And several potential buyers are bidding for the company, aware that whoever is successful will not inherit the debt.
However, several senior managers are among those who have been made redundant, but Richard Jayes has remained with the firm as managing director.
Potential buyers should contact Smith at RSM Robson Rhodes, 0121 697 6000.
