ESSEX-BASED USED truck dealership Hanbury Riverside is offering a deal for operators to help make their three-yearold tractor look like a brand new one.
Director Lee Smith (above) says first up is a private registration plate, ideally with letters that make up your own or company initials. "We're finding that there's a massive demand for those," Smith says.
A fresh coat of paint works wonders, he says, with a re-spray for a 6x2 tractor unit typically costing upwards of £3,000, To make the truck sparkle you can invest in a set of alloy wheels too.
"They'll set you back around £3,000 if you include paying for somebody to take the old wheels off, remove the tyres, put them on the new wheels, then put the new wheels on the truck," he says.
There is no reason why you can't add alloy or stainless steel light bars as well, plus a set of spotlights."We've got an electrician on site who can fit them," Smith adds.
The measures outlined are also likely to boost the truck's value come disposal time if it is looked after. •
