Type approval for new SDC trailer
WITH MANDATORY EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval just two years away, SDC Trailers has become the first major manufacturer to offer a fully-approved semi-trailer.
The approval for the l 3.7m curtainsider covers areas including braking, lighting, tyre, side and rear protection, spray suppression and couplings.
SDC MD Mark Cuskeran says: "We decided in 2007 that it was important to gain approval ahead of the application date as it would allow us, and our customers, to get used to the new regulations before they become compulsory It also allows us to increase our export sales into mainland Europe."
