Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

/ Perkins is to begin production of a more powerful version of its Phaser range of diesel engines early in the new year. Pre-production Phaser 201Ti engines will be built in September tailored for operations at 17 tonnes and Commercial Motor understands that one of the first UK truck builders to fit it will be Seddon Atkinson in its 2-11 rigid.

The six-cylinder chargecooled engine develops I56kW (210hp) at 2,500rpin (15% more than the current six-litre Phaser 180TO with improved torque of 690Nm (5101bEt) at 1,400rpm. Overall performance gains while flexibility and low exhaust and noise emissions are maintained.

The Phaser 210Ti retains the "Quadrarn" cloverleaf shaped piston crown chamber, designed to optimise swirl and generate efficient combustion. Injectors have been redesigned to match the characteristics of the Bosch EPVE fuel pump while the Garrett turbocharger now incorporates a "wastegate" by-pass valve giving high. boost at low speeds while relieving pressure at high speeds.

Turbocharger developments have also improved emissions and new inlet valve seats, nittided crankshaft and upgraded crank damper have been introduced to maintain durability.
