• The turo-vehicle licence held by Leslie Dean, trading as Deans Skip Hire, of Telford, was revoked when he failed to appear at a Birmingham disciplinary inquiry.
Licence renewed
• Willenhall-based Steven Jones, who had his licence suspended 11 months ago, succeeded in having it renewed in respect of two vehicles and one trailer until the end of November, at a Birmingham public inquiry
Fleet test
• Usk-based Arthur Brothers succeeded in having the authorisation on its licence increased from eight vehicles and 15 trailers to 10 vehicles and 19 trailers, after agreeing at a Cardiff public inquiry to have its existing fleet put through fresh MoT tests.
Fair dismissal
• A Birmingham Industrial Tribunal has decided that John Ford Transport had not acted unfairly in dismissing tipper driver David Nicholson following a series of accidents.
Fresh licence
• cm reported in its 27 July-2 August edition that Arbroathbased EG Chassar had surrendered its licence to Scottish LA Michael Betts, following a Dundee public inquiry. He did, however, grant a fresh licence for three vehicles and six trailers for 12 months.
