Petrol deliveries to more
than 1,200 UK petrol stations are set to be reor ganised as the Frost Group studies 45 distribution options after buying up competitor Burrnah Costal.
A review is expected to start later in the year and early signs indicate that third party contractors—led by Australian-based operator Linfox—are the most likely to benefit from any change in England, Scotland and Wales.
Linfox had just taken on the distribution contract to deliver to Burmah Castrol's 989 sites when the business was sold to Frost, Conoco, Fina, Total and Elf each use separate systems to deliver to Frost's 258 sites.
Company chairman James Frost says Linfox is on trial to show it can live up to its promises of flexibility and efficiency but he adds that the prospects for Linfox are "really gu;te good". Burmah's own fleet in Northern Ireland is expected to remain.
The combined Frost/ Burmah business is expected to sell around 363 million gallons of fuel this year.
