• Hundreds of sick, homeless and abandoned Romanian children will get a little Christmas cheer thanks to a convoy of trucks which is heading their way with 120,000 shoeboxes full of Christmas presents. The Yorkshire Post Shoebox Appeal convoy, working for charity Children in Distress, began its journey from the Yorkshire Post's headquarters in Leeds; it was expected to reach Bucharest last weekend.
