L T EICESTER Gas Department is using a showroom trailer to propagate interest in the merits of gas power. Mounted upon a Carrimore low-loading chassis, the body was built by Manhire, Chandler and Co., Barry Road, Stonebridge Park, London, N.W.10, the whole outfit being designed to the
specification of Mr. Mitchell, M.I.Mech.E., Leicester's gas engineer.
The gas supply is coupled up to the main, at the rear, to feed the 12 bayonet flex-cocks mounted on the floor and the two large three-burner lamps, which have special cowl windguards. All the supply pipes are concealed.
There is only one step between the grodnd and the floor of the trailer, access being by means of two folding doors at each end, on the near side. Ample ventilation is afforded by side and roof fittings, and half-drop lights at the front and rear.

bronze channels, provide for an effective exterior display. Removable shutters are supplied for the windows.
Inside, as well as externally, the vehicle is neatly decorated. The interior side panels are covered with gold mottled washable Rexine, the ceiling being finished in a similar material, relief gold grained, with polished mahogany mouldings. The centre of the floor is covered with thick Parafloor rubber material, surrounded by mahogany.
The box-type flush-fitting number plate is combined with the rear lamp and two side lamps are fitted. A battery provides lighting power.
Inside, the body is 7 ft. 2 ins, high under the lamps, and 7 ft. wide, the vehicle being 21 ft. 6 ins, long overall.
