of Transport asking them how many full and part time drivers they employ and asking then to record details of any accidents involving their vehicles in the period June to December 1977.
The document asks questions relating to the numbers of hours worked by both full and part-time drivers at the time of an accident and how many hours part-time drivers have worked in any employment other than driving psv at the time immediately prior to any accident.
The questionnaires also require details of drivers' ages and psv driving experience.
Information obtained from the survey will be used by a Cambridge University School of Clinical Medicine team which has been asked by the DTp to carry out a study of the safety of all coach drivers.
Information gained from the survey will be treated in strict confidence.
The survey has the cooperation of the CPT and the Transport and General Workers Union.
