AFTER 48 years in the transport industry, John Jepson, chief engineer of Eastern National Omnibus Company, is to take early retirement on December 31.
Mr Jepson began his busy career as an apprentice with Eastern National in 1936. After war service and a period outside the business he rejoined the group as area engineer with Lincolnshire Road Car, later becoming chief engineer with Eastern National.
He left the group for a while to join National Travel (South East) as group chief engineer, returning to Eastern National in 1978 on the restructuring of National Travel (South East).
Following a reorganisation of the management structure at City of Oxford Motor Services, marketing manager David Beaman has been redesignated traffic manager. At the same time, Eirgwyn Jones, assistant operating manager (traffic) has been redesignated operations manager.
