CV Fl1'ANCE specialist Alliance and Leicester has signed a partnership agreement with Ipswich-based Seven Asset Management under which the banking giant will add contract hire to its portfolio.
The new division will be headed by Richard Egan, former MD of Hitachi's specialist independent CV contract-hire arm. It's planned to have a fleet of over 1,000 trucks on contract hire within three years.
The move marks a strategic shift in the development of Alliance and Leicester in the CV sector: "We're extending our business from one based just around the transaction to one that offers longer-term value to the customers," says Alliance and Leicester sales director Kelvin Briggs. "It's important that if we're going to enter this sector of the business we must do it well. In combination with our partners we'll be ensuring operators benefit from the highest levels of management and operational capability available."
