• An owner-driver who disposed of commercial waste ille gaily on the Millennium Coastal Park in Wales has been finer £600 with .2450 costs.
An investigation in relation to the fly-tipping was launchec by the Environment Agency (EA) after waste was discoverec at two locations.
Llanelli-based Tommy Jones pleaded guitty to the twc offences relating to Me Environment Protection Act 1991 after using his Ford Transit pickup to dispose of the material Among the waste were documents with the name R. Jones Plumbing and Heating on them. The company had pak Jones to collect and dispose of its waste and he had fly tipped the material to avoid paying disposal costs. The firrr had accepted a formal caution from the FA for failing in their duty of care to ensure that the waste was given to a rep utable, licensed waste contractor.
The EA says instances of fly-tipping are rising and it wil not hesitate to bring people to task on the illegal activity.
