• A Peterborough-based training company is offering trainee Class-C (rigid) HU drivers the chance to pay in instalments.
Les Wheeler of Apex Training Services says his firm will accept instalments of £32 per month instead of a lump sum of L800-1,000. "There are so many people out there who want to improve themselves but just can't," Wheeler adds. "This is the way forward to solving the shortfall of drivers, especially in East Anglia where the problem is very severe."
