LARGE A.E.C. ORDER FROM CANADA: A.E.C. Ltd, has received orders for 250 single-deck bus chassis to be supplied to Canada. where they will be fitted with bodies by Robin-Nodwell, A.E.C.'s exclusive Canadian distributors. The chassis, worth
m. will comprise 200 of the new 235 b.h.p., rear-engined Merlin chassis, to be fitted with 53-seat bodies for city services, and 50 Reliances to take 36-seat bodies for suburban duties.
CORBY TRAILER SUCCESSES: Amongst recent orders received by the Canadianowned York Trailer Co. Ltd. in association with Duties Truck Equipment Ltd. of Rexiiale. Ontario, is one for 428 York Big D couplers for Nigeria. The company has also received an order for 16 trailers to be shipped to Eire, and some 30 third axles for Bedford chassis to be supplied to Malacca, in Malaya.
DAIMLERS FOR NORTHAMPTON: Northampton Corporation transport committee recommends the acceptance of the tender of Transport Vehicles (Daimler) Ltd.. Coventry, for the supply of six CVG6 double-deck bus chassis at a cost of £2,968 each, and the tender of Chas H. Roe Ltd. for the supply of six bodies at £2,930 per body.
