They are often specified by customers at an early stage regardless of which supplier builds the trailers. Ratcliff works with the operator and trailer manufacturer to engineer lifts to specific applications.
Safety is a particular concern not just because of a statutory duty of care but also because national retail brands must protect their reputations. Sales manager Eddie McIver says Ratcliff will be emphasising safety in its display at the 2007 CV show.
The firm already offers gated platforms with side and rear trolley ramps and nonslip surfaces. McIver believes "training for operators and drivers is essential; its not just a safety issueproper use of the equipment also saves expensive repair costs.''
