A NEW EEC-approved road speed and engine speed tachograph for oneor two-crew operation has been introduced by Lucas Kienzle. The company says that recordings of engine and road speeds can be used to increase engine life and reduce fuel consumption.
In the new instrument the engine and road speed traces are recorded on different charts so allowing them to be studied side by side. Pre-EEC instruments recorded both traces on different sides of the same chart. An engine overspeed warning device can be coupled to the tachograph.
