LARGE passenger vehicles not used as psv may in future have to be tested at Department of the Environment hgv testing stations and not at ordinary garages.
This is if draft regulations which the Minister of Transport, Dr John Gilbert, intends to lay before Parliament, are approved.
The proposed new regulations have just been circulated for comment by the DoE.
They create a new class of vehicle—known as class V— which is at present only defined as a "large passenger vehicle which is not a psv."
The reason for the suggested change is that ordinary garages do "not have suitable facilities for large vehicles."
