It is a credit to the manufacturers, particularly in this difficult period for road transport, that they can turn up with trucks of such quality that are only separated by around 0.4%.
Without wanting to take the victory away from MAN and Mercedes, it also demonstrates that an operator can pick any of these trucks and be happy.
Each truck has its strengths and weaknesses, and each will suil a different set of requirements.
Do you want out-and-out fuel economy? Pick the Merc. Do you need good putting power? Pick the Volvo. Or do you want a great working environment? The MAN is the answer. Then again, opting for the Scania will please drivers only there might be a bit of a debate about the colour...
