ABEL Bodywork Ltd of Bolton, specialist in the construction of bread and refrigerated vans, has been taken over by Crane Freuhauf Rigids Ltd. Most of Abers existing range will continue to be manufactured at Bolton, but may be modified to conform to Crane Fruehauf designs. In addition, some of CF Imperial van bodies, CF Pengco demountable systems and a light trailer, the "Trailerette" will also be produced there. The acquisition of this factory provides Crane Freuhauf Rigids with a local base from which to supply its northern customers.
