• Somerset-based transport services group Langdon Industries, which operates some 90 vehicles and 110 trailers on controlled temperature and ambient food distribution, reports that it has implemented a new two-strand, cost-saving tyre policy with startling results.
All new vehicles are now ordered with Michelin XZE1 and XDE1 tyres offering potential `four life' durability while tri-axle reefer trailers are being factoryfitted at Langdon's request with wide single 385165R 225 X.ZAs.
Managing director Mike Donoghue says the full use of Michelin's Remix casing 'bank' has almost halved tyre-related breakdown costs.
