• Bridlington-based RB & D Smith is appealing against the revocation of its 0-licence because of speeding by its drivers. Directors Robert, Doreen and Stephen Smith are also appealing against revocation of their LGV driving licences.
Blyths warned
• George and Sandra Blyth, of Balmain Farm, Leven, have been given a formal warning about future maintenance standards by Scottish Deputy IC Alan Worthington.
Three's the limit
• Opposition from Walsall Borough Council led to the fourvehicle licence held by Willenhall-based Dean & Sons being renewed with a condition that not more than three vehicles be in possession at any one time.
Maintain standards II West Midland Deputy TC Roger Seymour has warned Birmingham-based Paul Jarvis that maintenance standards must not fall, even in a recession. Jarvis, who trades as Kv,rik Skips, had started doing his own maintenance.

• One immediate and four delayed prohibitions since December 1992 led to Sunderland based BH & S Leadbitter being given a warning about its future maintenance standards at a Leeds public inquiry.
