DAIMLER HAS unveiled the next-generation Fuso Canter in Japan, ahead of a European launch in 2011. It has been fully restyled inside and out, and promises improvements to chassis, suspension and brakes to enhance safety and reduce the kerb weight. Although European Canters now come with the Fiat Power Trainsourced Euro-5(ELV engMe, the driveline for the home market includes Fuso's own engine already able to meet the Japanese emissions standards. It comes with the Fuso Duonic twin-plate clutch automated manual transmission as standard.
