A SPONSORED jailbreak from Chelmsford police station is being organised for October to raise funds for the Essex Association of Boys' Clubs. Eastern National bus Drivers, Basildon and East Ham firemen, and probation officers are practising their handcuffbreaking routine in preparation for a race to put the greatest possible distance between themselves and policemen from Harlow, Southend, Rayleigh and Chelmsford in the shortest possible time.
The organisers have, I hear, been overwhelmed by applications from those anxious to outwit the cops.
