THE Thompson Jewitt Group has entered into two freight forwarding agreements, giving the Group greater coverage of the European scene.
Following negotiations in both England and Sweden, Autotransit AB, the international division of the Bilspedition Organisation, and Thompson Jewitt International have joined forces to create a new North Sea crossing.
This effectively connects Thompson Jewitt depots in Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and London directly with Autotransit terminals at Gothenburg, Stockholm Jonkopping, Helsinborg and Malmo.
The new association has a high frequency of departures between each depot in both directions.
Thompson Jewitt will now also be part of the Hamburg scene, following an agency agreement with Zippert and Company, one of the largest forwarding organisations in Western Germany.
The new appointment establishes a groupage service for both import and export freight, and follows an increase in demand from customers for direct services to key areas of international trade and business.
Thompson Jewitt is based at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottingham.
