GREATER Manchester Transport is countering new vehicle shortages by buying ten former London Transport Daimler Fleetlines.
The seven-year-old Fleetlines, which are due to enter service with Lancashire United at the end of next month, have been bought for "a very good price" — considerably less than £10,000 each.
They have been acquired from Ensign Bus of Grays which is converting them to single-entrance layout and painting them in Lancahire United livery, GMT will equip them with radios and Almex A Fare collection equipment.
