• Gloucester haulier Andrew Bennett had his licence revoked and faces a five-year ban from holding an 0-licence, after he failed to turn up to public inquiry before Western Traffic Commissioner John Mervyn Pugh.
Bennett, trading as A&S Bennett Transport was due to answer questions relating to a three-month prison sentence he received after being found guilty of tachograph offences.
Despite concerted efforts by Traffic Area Office staff to contact Bennett, he had failed appear at the inquiry, said Pugh. He revoked his licence for three vehicles and ordered him to be disqualified from holding a licence for five years, if he failed to contact the TAO to make his case within 28 days.
