IP A new trailer tracking system uses solar energy to ensure uncoupled trailer units don't run out of power.
Astrotraq, from Berkshirebased Thteq, is a GPS/GSMbased product which can be stuck or bolted onto a trailer roof and charges up the trailer
tracking unit's battery—unlike other systems where the trailer battery is charged only when coupled up to a tractive unit.
Stuart Grey, MD of supplier Dorset-based Pinpointers says the 370mm-diameter device can be set to 'wake up' twice a day and report its position.
