• To the trailer survey published in the February 5 issue should be added:— NEVILLE TRUCK EQUIPMENT
Neville Truck Equipment Ltd, Lindleys Lane, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Notts.
This company builds tipping semi-trailers with standard body capacities ranging from 15 to 60 Cu yd. The units are made in three forms----Frame Tippers, with tipper bodies on trailer chassis; the Tandem Tip, in which the running gear is attached to the body and the' tipping is by the Villiers system: and the Tandem Dump, on which the running gear is carried on a short sub-frame having the tipping fulcrum mounted low down between the axles. When the body is tipped the actual pivot point of the action is between and below the axle centres, so providing a considerable reduction in the height of the c of g when the body is tipped.
Neville Truck manufactures its own running gear utilizing rubber as the suspension medium. The unit features rigid walking beams within which the axles are suspended by Metalastik sandwich rubber springs. Axle location is by rubber-bushed radius rods, and the whole unit is virtually maintenancefree.
From the trailer survey should be deleted Seaway Containers Ltd, Naker Street, Greenock; we have now been informed that the company has ceased trading and is being wound up.
