• Iveco's decision to offer line-built sweeper chassis has paid off with two orders totalling 41 units coming from Go Plant and Kent Sweepers. Traditionally sweeper chassis needed major modifications before the body could be fitted—with linebuilt vehicles, lead times are greatly reduced.
The 13-tonne Iveco sweepers are built in collaboration with sweeper body manufacturer Johnston Engineering at lveco's Brescia plant.
"In a relatively buoyant municipal market the orders from Go Plant and Kent Sweepers could represent a substantial percentage of the UK market for the next year," says David Osborn, lveco Ford's municipal sales manager. "We antici
pate further orders, and will be able to supply line-built, fully equipped 1 3-tonne chassis direct from Brescia." Steve Hurd, business development manager at Loughborough-based Go-Plant, says this order marks the start of a long-term relationship: "We promote both the quality of our service and our back up," he explains. "We're happy with this first order, and expect to place a second one in July."
