The Scottish city, which is another area of the UK the EC says is exceeding air quality limits, recently closed a consultation on its plans to launch an LEZ. A spokeswoman says the responses are being collated into a report for councillors to consider later this year. She says the London mayor's decision not to include vans will have no bearing on its plans, and that any threat of legal action from the EC will not influence the speed at which agreement or othawse is reached on launching an LEZ
The Road Haulage Association remains sceptical it would clean up the city's air. The RHAS David Eaglesham says. 'We're all for clean air, but a lot of the avoidable pollution could come by putting adequate public transport in place."
