INSTITUTE of Transport immediate past president Dick Farmer, and secretary A. G. Griffiths, left London yesterday on a six-week tour during which they will visit branches of the Institute in Africa, Malaya, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Ceylon.
A quarter of the IoT's 12,000 members live outside the British Isles and the council of the Institute has decided it is important that overseas members should have an opportunity to exchange views through personal contacts, particularly at this stage of the Institute's development.
