FORD IS TO take delivery of 370 MAN TGX 26.440 6x2 tractor units over the next two years as part of a leet refresh at the transport operations of the car giant.
MAN will lease 185 tractors to Ford this year, for ive years, while a further 185 units will be delivered in 2013 to replace the remainder of the leet.
The tractors will go into operation at Ford’s Transport Operations facilities in Dagenham, Essex; Halewood, Merseyside; Bridgend, south Wales, and Southampton.
Ford will be using its new MAN leet to move engines, gearboxes and components.
MAN says the deal is one of the largest it has received in the UK in recent years.
In 2011, the manufacturer saw its market share (over 6 tonnes) increase 73% as 4,772 units were registered, ranking it third behind rivals Daf and Mercedes-Benz.
