• Sir Donald Stokes, deputy chairman and managing director, British Leyland Motor Corporation Ltd., will read the first paper at the annual conference of the Road Haulage Association in Eastbourne, on Tuesday October 29. His subject will bc the future of road haulage in British industry.
The first speaker in the afternoon, Mr. R. H. Phillipson, secretary, British Road Federation, will have as his subject a new approach to road finance and administration.
The business session on the morning of October 30 will be devoted-to a brains trust under the chairmanship of Mr. N. R. Wynn, the RHA chairman. The members of the brains trust will be Mr. R. H. Farmer, member, RHA executive board; Mr. C. F. Klapper, editor, Modern Transport; Mr. H. E. Osborn, comptroller, Transport Holding
Company, and Mr. S. C. Robbins, chief marketing manager, British Railways Board.
The business sessions will take place in the Devonshire Room of the Grand Hotel, Eastbourne.
