A Vehicles initially exempt from both
testing and plating include the following: Breakdown vehicles, caravans, dualpurpose vehicles, electrically propelled vehicles, engineering plant, land implements, locomotives and tractors, local authority refuse collection vehicles, mobile cranes, motor tractors and locomotives, road construction vehicles, road rollers, tower wagons. trailers with over-run brakes, vehicles exempt from duty under S6(6) of the Vehicles Excise Act 1962. vehicles operated under the Special Types Orders (but not vehicles which run under both C and U and Special Types Regulations), works trucks and trailers.
