TWO new services have been countrywide operation.
Called -One-way Rental"' and -Off-peak Package," they are designed to benefit renters who want to rent in one place and leave the vehicle in another and renters who would like to use vehicles at what are normally quiet trading periods.
With "One-way Rental"' a vehicle — generally a 7.3-ton boxvan — is supplied on a collect and deliver basis, as opposed to the normal collect and return arrangement. So, for example, a rente wishing to carry goods and or personal effects from Abel cleen to London can hire vehicle from BRS Truck Rents in Aberdeen and, on completioi of the job, leave it at a BR; Truck Rental depot in London.
This service is provided b ten selected BRS depots situ ated in London, Birmingham Southampton, Bristol, Not tingham, Leeds, Manchester Newcastle, Glasgow and Aber deen.
Rates (excluding fuel) hay( been set at £95 for one-day hire £145 for two days, and £19( for three days, and include un limited mileage and insurance.
The scheme is aimec specifically at personal users and offers them a choice of 1 ton vans, 35-cwt Lutons, anc 3-ton box/dropside vehicles a' reduced rates for weekend anc overnight hirings.
BRS Truck Rental Product Manager Brian Denvir says he expects to fill an important gap in the national market with the new operations.
