IN the Chancery Division, last week, 1 Mr. Justice Lloyd-Jacob held that a handbook compiled by Mr. Frederick G. Fletcher, entitled "The Fundamental Principles of Road Passenger Transport Operation," infringed the copyright in "Time Table and Duty Schedule Compilation," written by Mr. John F. Turner, Winchmore Hill Road, Southgate, and published by Sir Isaac Pitman and Sons, Ltd.
Mr. Fletcher and his publishers, MacDonald and Co. (Publishers), Ltd., Maddox Street, London, W.I, undertook not to infringe in future.
His Lordship did not feel that Mr. Fletcher inspired any trust in his word, and his evidence confirmed the impression he (the Judge) formed on comparing the two books. Mr. Fletcher had used a vital portion of Mr. Turner's work,
