• Red and White Services Ltd is to close its depot and inquiry office at Hereford in November because of the recession in traffic on routes in rural areas.
Twenty-one drivers and conductors are employed at Hereford, which is on the very edge of the company's territory. A Red and White spokesman said: "We hope to offer vacancies to some of the staff at other depots, and Midland Red hopes to accommodate some, but others will be made redundant." Midland Red will probably take on some of the services.
