• The problem of driver stress and fatigue was highlighted at the annual Scottish Transport and General Workers' Union road transport oil distribution conference last week. T&G Scotland road transport group secretary Dan Sharpe says: 'Our drivers have instructed us to start talks with their employers about how to set reasonable iourney schedules; regulate driving hours; provide adequate rest and recovery arrangements; and educate drivers on what causes fatigue."
