Cartwright builds singleand double-deck temperature-controlled trailers plus insulated-only versions. Fridge units may be fitted at a later date.
Typical customers are Langdons and the Asda supermarket chain which runs 13.6m double-deck multi-temperature trailers with Carrier units and twin hydraulic lifting decks a small one over the neck and a main one running from step to tail.
Others have been built for Fullers Logistics, United Biscuits and Kellogg's which use Moveco or Joloda slip-chain moving-floor systems.

Chereau's recently introduced lnogam 2 design for 7.5t rigids up to the largest 13.6m reefer trailer replaces the previous Tecnogam range which has been phased out.
The new reefers are available as singleor dualcompartment and may he equipped with meat rails for hanging carcasses.

Ekeri Oy Kalby, Finland
Finnish reefer specialist Ekeri has an order book of over 500 units which stretches out to next March.
However, it has reserved slots for 25 trailers this year for UK clients.
One vehicle completed this spring was the third for Fraser Freight of Portsmouth, which will deliver high-value goods across the EC.
The optional electronic lock system costs an extra £2,000 hut will impress insurers.

One example of G&Ns new 'quiet reefer range is Tesco's 10.5m urban delivery trailer with Thermo King cryogenic fridge unit. It uses CO., refrigerant and is both quieter and cleaner.
Sound damping is via a coated floor, sidewalls, kick strips and retractable tail-lift ramps which keep noise levels below Holland's PIEK 60dB(A) limit, enforced between 1 lpm and 7am.
Sainsbury's 10.5m G&A reefer with Carrier underrnount unit is also PIEK-certified, as is the sleek 13.6m reefer built for Gist. This has shapely side skirts, radiused top and front edge cappings plus a shaped rear roof to give better airflow.
Recent fleet sales include 46 13.6m tandems and 11.5m command-steer reefers for Musgrave Budgens Londis, and Morrisons' 180 9.0m dual-temp and standard reefers.
Morrisons is trying a G&A double-deck reefer, and three multi-temps for Henry Colbeck have roller shutters each side for multi-drop work.

Krone has given UK operators an early glimpse of its sturdy steel-lined Cool Liner Duoplex prior to the Hanover show.

Lamberes standard SR2 Futura, at 6,800kg unladen, is claimed to be 600kg lighter than its rivals despite the standard square rear compression pads, full-width rubbing plate and shapely plastic fuel tank behind the landing legs. A meat hanger version is also offered.
In addition to better impact resistance, panel insulation has been improved by 16% which saves on fuel used by the unit and lowers CO2 emissions as well.

Montracon's ex-stock programme includes refrigerated and insulated van trailers, all produced at its Market Weighton factory.
As well as standard fridge boxes, it builds short urban artics on command-steer tandem axles and full-length double-decks with multi-temp compartments on straight and drop-frame chassis.
It's 10rn positive-steer urban reefers are favoured by such fleets as Aria and Sainsbury's, the Tridec system giving them the manoeuvrability of a rigid but with a much greater payload.

Panehex's Hull factory has the capacity to build up to five trailers a week, ranging from refrigerated versions to highly specialised trailers such as medical and military vehicles.
Chassis usually come from its Polish sister factory but niche activities include building aerodynamic reefers for intern& grocery retailer Ocado.
One batch of 20 trailers for home deliveries were dual-temperature with twin decks capable of holding 12 order containers. Another long-standing project is SOMI's high-cube pallet or roll-cage trailer, with its moving inner loading platforms.

Schmitz Cargobull UK Harelaw, Co Durham
Schmitz's Harelaw-built S.K0 Cool reefer is one of the UK's two best sellers. Companies buying it this year include P&O Ferrymasters, Potters Group and Hill Hire.
Kent-based SMS Logistics has taken a batch, all fitted with Schmitz 's telematics, Bulldog rear locks and Euroscan temperature recorders.
The steel-lined Ferroplast bodies are built on a bolted, galvanised chassis with its own disc running gear — all covered by a standard five-year structural warranty and 10 year anti-corrosion on the frame.
Schmitz's telematics package monitors load area temperatures and door openings, and controls the fridge system.

SOR RV is the sole UK distributor for Valenciabased SOR lfberica and last year sold around 200 refrigerated trailers.
They were all built to mainly bespoke designs with single-piece aluminium floor and special inner load restraint; a large number had reinforced roofs to carry meat rails.

Van Eck reefers comprise the Mega Lnitrans for airfreight pallets and a dual-temperature ECK-streme Silent for twin-deck cargo.
The latter has a very large loading capacity and can hold up 10 77 roller containers across three temperature zones.
With a coated floor, insulated body panels, loading ramp and enclosed Carrier unit under the second loading deck, the reefer is PIEK-certified for Holland (www.piek.org) and can legally make 'silent hours' deliveries.
Built on a galvanised chassis to 4m, its two hydraulic steer axles makes it quite manoeuvrable too.
