A NEW electric-powered van from M&M Electric Vehicles of Ath stone made its debut last week at the exhibition organised by I Electric Vehicle Association and the South Western Electric Board at Plymouth.
The vehicle is a one-ton payload light van known as the Electron and was purpose built to a specification laid down by the Swedish Post Office.
The contract stipulated that the vehicle should be a purposebuilt electric powered chassis and not a conversion from a conventional internal combustion engined model. A design life of 15 years +A requested to compensate for I increase in first cost and to ti end the Electron incorporate: corrosion resistant body whi is colour impregnated.
Four prototype vehicles ha been built for use in Sweder Electricity Boards, Postal In& try, Telecommunications ar Water Boards.
