• The Government has revised the regulations designed to improve the safety of broken down vehicles.
Drivers may now use new types of roadside warning devices, including flat cones with yellow sheets that can be placed on the vehicle. Recovery operators will also be able to use "Keep right" arrow signs to warn traffic of a broken down vehicle Leaflets on what to do in the event of a breakdown are available from the Department of Transport on 0171 271 5148.
