Conditional surrender
I Cardiff Despatch was granted a new international licence for operating six vehicles and six trailers conditional upon a similar licence held by David Emmett, trading in the same name, being surrendered. South Wales TC John Mervyn Pugh was told the company had been formed on accountant's advice.
Flatbed overload
• A 33.14°0 gross overload on a 3.5-tonne flatbed vehicle carrying paving slabs cost Kennedy Asphalt of Altrincham, Cheshire, .£355 in fines and costs when the company appeared before Wallasey magistrates. Driver Anthony Shrimpton was fined £ 100 and ordered to pay £55 costs.
Licence suspended
• Maintenance problems have led to the licence held by Arbroath-based Robert and Mary McGonagle being suspended for four days. The partners appeared before Scottish TC Michael Betts at a Dundee disciplinary inquiry.
