Conditional surrender

Flatbed overload
• A 33.14°0 gross overload on a 3.5-tonne flatbed vehicle carrying paving slabs cost Kennedy Asphalt of Altrincham, Cheshire, .£355 in fines and costs when the company appeared before Wallasey magistrates. Driver Anthony Shrimpton was fined £ 100 and ordered to pay £55 costs.
Licence suspended
• Maintenance problems have led to the licence held by Arbroath-based Robert and Mary McGonagle being suspended for four days. The partners appeared before Scottish TC Michael Betts at a Dundee disciplinary inquiry.
