?" As the market continues to grow BRS Truck Rental, which handles spot hires of under a year, has spent 28.1m on new vehicles, only nine months after its last order for new vehicles, worth 21 óm.
The company's fleet size rose by 15% between September 1992 and last year: this figure is continuing to rise and will now hit 2,520, says rental director Phil Chapman. Average rental periods are still very low, at 47 days, although useage is up as the group instigates a policy of sharing vehicles between BRS Rental and other NFC companies. Turnover is likely to show a larger rise to September this year than its 20% increase yearon-year to September '93. The company's largest customers are BRS and Exel Logistics and the Post Office.
