• Acquisitions and a move into general haulage and warehousing activities are likely for car transporter company Sheertruck International after its sale was agreed last week.
Joint owner Michael Kingshott becomes chief executive of the acquiring company, John I Jacobs, a ship owner and broker. Sheertruck managing director and co-owner Colin Parry-Williams does not rule out acquisitions on the Continent. Sheertruck is the UK
partner for international distribution consortium TTC and Parry-Williams says this could provide the platform for expansion of its through traffic. Kingshott agrees there are possibilities for transporting more general cargoes and says that, as a public company, access to capital funding could provide the necessary cash.
However, the purchase has to have Jacobs' shareholder approval.
Sheertruck has 58 vehicles.
