SUGARICH WANTS to base an extra two trailers at its facility at the Turweston Aerodrome in Westbury, Brackley, Northants, taking its authorisation at the site up to 12.
The company – which converts surplus food products, such as bread dough, into animal feed – is ordering a total of three of the tri-axle hook lift trailers from specialist manufacturer Oldbury.
Of these, two will be based in Brackley, while the other will be stationed at its site in Knowsley, Merseyside.
The company will take delivery of the trailers during May and June this year.
At the same time, Sugarich is purchasing three Scania 6x2 tag-axle tractor units to be used in tandem with the trailers.
Paul Featherstone, Sugarich procurement director, would not give details about the cost of the three trailers, but admitted it would add up to “more than £100,000” . He says: “As costs increase, it is important to run in better and smarter ways.
“We’ve found a partner who is willing to cater for our needs.
“Oldbury makes sturdy, well-built trailers and we’ve got a bit of kit that works well.”
