The storm of protest against the sudden withdrawal of eprlain Metropolitan services, to which matter we made considered references in our last issue, has resulted in the re-establishment of at least one such connecting link in London's great traffic maze. We hope that no fresh total withdrawal of a pol)uLar service will be hurriedly sanctioned in the future, as an omnibus company's greatest asset is its full retention of the public confidence. Kaleidoscopic changes do not tend in that direction, and there is much _ to be said for the greater likelihood of success on the part of those who study the convenience of their patrons. It is bad to be obsessed by a desire to crush other people—or even to give that impression—if the public suffers elsewhere.
