launched by Wrights of Ballymena last month, has been placed by Liverpool City Council.
The council wants 30 TX mini-buses for delivery early next year, including a TX 202 for welfare work.
Jack Kemihan, sales manager at Wrights, says: "The Liverpool order is a major breakthrough into new territory and it reflects the high standard of design and workmanship available from the Wrights factories in Ballymena, Co Antrim and in Wishaw, Scotland.
The TX range is built on the popular Iveco Ford Turbo Daily 49.10 chassis. Wrights fits the vehicle with an all-alloy body for strength and lightness.
This is the first large order for the TX minibus, but Wrights has already received orders for two minibuses for export to Jordan, and for "several" minibuses from the Central Services Agency in Northern Ireland.
In the last year Wrights has increased its workforce by 15% to 103. Wrights is considering further expansion.
