• Hauliers suffering Ireland's midlands traffic bottlenecks can now call for directions around the congestion by mobile phone.
Way to Go is a phone and fax service that will guide drivers around the towns of Kinnegad in Westmeath and the county town of Kildare by using alter native routes that are suitable for HGV traffic.
The congestion-busting service gives directions for journeys in both directions between Dublin and Cork, Limerick. Galway, Sligo, and Mayo.
Originally a local map and detour directions were sold to drivers who were stuck in bank holiday traffic jams. Now the service has been expanded to include dial-in information on beating the traffic. It can be accessed from the cab.
However, the faxed details cost Ll a minute and phone details cost 75p per minute to receive.
