tions are to be given an overhaul with a new framework that will effectively replace NVQs.
According to Skills for Logistics (SfL), the Qualifications and Credit Framework (OCF) should provide more flexibility than NVOs.
"The key to OCF is that vocational qualifications will be made up of combinations of individually 'credit-rated and 'levelled' units." says SfL.
SfL chief executive Mick Jackson adds: The OCF enables us to develop module-based qualifications so we can introduce specific supply chain modules for a particular sector such as food and drink."
All existing qualifications must be transferred onto the new OCF by the end of 2010.
