PUBLIC bus services Strathclyde are heading for "disaster", with wholesale redundancies under the Government's privatisation plans, according to Strathclyde PTC Transport and General Workers Union convenor George Petris.
He said: "Redundancies are being estimated at around 1,000 from the present staff of about 4,000. The prospect is horrendous."
A full-scale demonstration against the Government's buses White Paper is to be staged in Edinburgh on November 27.
